JOHN WORTH McCarthy resigns

John Worth McCarthy, instructor in manual training and athletics in the local high school, has resigned and left Saturday for Columbus, Ohio, where he will enter Ohio State university, and will prepare himself to be a doctor of dentistry. He has a most excellent opportunity to continue his college training, as his athletic ability 'has given him an important place in that institution. Prof. McCarthy had a splendid position here and his resignation is a matter of genuine regret, as he was very popular with the faculty and exceptionally so with the student body. Marked improvement in athletics has been noticed since he took hold of thebasketbali team, and he was wnged to remain. His decision to complete his training for a professional career is undoubtedly a Wise one. while at the present it seems Ito be quite a sacrifice. He went 'by way of Greencastle Haute, and expected to remain at the latter city with his brother, Dr. Frank McCarthy, and family, until Monday. He reports at Ohio State On Tuesday, February 4.
