Effect of Intense Gold.
Intense cold causes a dulling of the senses, taste and smell becoming almost nil. The lack of these two senses seems, however, to be a very k’nd and wise provision of nature to enable the traveler In the cold arctic regions to eat all kinds of oily, disagreeable foods like blubber and fat, which are necessary as heat producers.
