Most things lack novelty to a widow, even a honeymoon. Every man may have his price, but he Is mighty seldom worth it. It’s all right to put your best foot forward, but don’t let the other one lag. War costs a lot of money, besides which there’s the devil to pay. Every married woman has a feeling that she would know better how to manage her next husband. Clothes don’t ’make the man, especially the fellow who makes a cloak of his patriotism. Hope Is a good derrick, but it won’t get a fellow to the top without the assistance of hustle.
