Prof. William Schanlaub, superintendent of the Newton county schools, spent Monday night here with his parents, Mr. and Mirs. John Schanlaub. He is visiting the schools in the north end of his county. —* Private Basil Hall, of the northern part of the county, arrived here last night from Camp Grant, where he had been mustered out of -the service. He left here September 3 iwith the group of selectmen. Mrs. J. H. Long returned from Lafayette Monday evening, where she had been with 'her daughter, Bernice, who has an attack of the “flu.” Bernice is still confined to her bed, but She is thought to be improving.
