Did This Ever Happen to You?

A North side club woman, prominent in D. A. R. and other circles, went picnicking with a group of friends on the Fourth of July. In the course of the day one of the" other women lost her handkerchief, and the D. A. R. member generously lent an extra one. A few days ago the handkerchief was returned by the borrower. It was a daintily embroidered square with hearts and flowers intertwined with the letter “W.” There are no “W’s” in the family of the D. A. R. woman. She took It with some surprise and said: “Why, that isn’t my handkerchief.” “I know it isn’t,” was the quick reply. “But it’s the one that you lent to me. I noticed it at the time.” — Indianapolis News.
