The phrase “duration of the war” is more poked about in England than in America. “You will realize how philosophical we are become out here,” an officer writes to the Evening News, “when I tell you that we have just been invited to enter a team for a divisional football competition—to be an annual event "My men seem very keen, especially as a cup is offered.
