Lowell Payne, of Indianapolis, is the guest here of the families of his uncles, James N. and David Leatherman. The funeral of Comrade C. B. Wells, which was held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, was very largely attended. t Dr. and Mrs. E. C. English and Dr. and Mrs. A. R. Kresler went to Indianapolis this morning to attend an important ‘ medical meeting. Paul Stevens, of McCoysburg, was in Rensselaer today. He and his wif e will go to Wingate Friday for a visit with his parents. His father is again suffering with asthma.
Mr. and Mil. S. M. Laßue received a card this morning announcing that the ship on which their_ son, E. M. Laßue, was a passenger,'had arrived safely across the Atlantic. Mrs. William Powers celebrated her seventy-third birthday yesterday by giving a dinner to Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hagins, George Robinson and Gertrude Hopkins. Harold M. Parker, who had been here visiting his grandfather, Frank M. Parker, and other relatives, left this morning for his home in Tulsa, Okla. Harold is a senior in the Tulsa high school.
