Mesdames Thomas Johnson, Samuel Potts, Alphus Prather, Mart Reed and Roy Swartz, of Fair Oaks, were in Rensselaer Tuesday. Sergeant B. L. Wood left Tuesday evening for Camp Devens, Mass., after spending a ten days’ furlough here with his wife and baby. Mrs. David H. McMurray and children returned this forenoon from Indianapolis, where they had been visiting .with the former’s husband, Private David H. McMurray. William Iliff and Henry Shafer went to Chicago this morning and will visit with Mr. Iliff’s son at the Great Lakes Naval Training station. Earl Smith and William Wise, of Ohcago, who had been guests'of Mr. and' Mr:. Leslie Pollard, returned today to their homes. John Mdrgan, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Morgan, is now located at Edgewood, Md., his address being Casual Det., 2nd Bn., Edgewood Arsenal, Edgewood, Md. His wife, formerly Miss Hazel Kenton, is with her father, Elmer Kenton, who lives near Mitchell, S. D. David Howshaw went to Lowell Tuesday afternoon to see his people, and from there he expected to go to Indianapolis, where he will be employed. Mae Clarke, daughter of Mr. * and Mrs. P. W. Clarke, of this city, is now instructor in domestic science in the seventh and eighth grades of the pdblic schools of New Castle, Wyo. Mrs. W, J. Wright has received a letter from her brother, Glenn Bates, who is now working in a large timber camp fifty miles west of Seattle. He says that thousands of ’soldiers are employed there in the spruce timber. This is the wood used in airplanes. Max Harrison has resumed his duties as manager of the Rensselaer garment factor, after a short vacation spent in Chicago. Miss Agnes Broun, who was ip charge during Mr. Harrison’s absence, has returned to her home in' Chicago.
