Mrs. Albert Wolfe and daughter Mrs. Clarence Beasy, of Chalmers, spent Sunday here with relatives. Charles Fox, who is employed in the Monon shops at Lafayette, was here Sunday.
Nye Ridgway returned to his home at Ash ■ Grove this morning after a visit here with William Minniear. Attorney Abraham Halleck, R. A. Mannan, of Wheatfield, and Frank E. Bell, court reporter, went to Kentland this morning, where the hearing of the Williams ditch petition is being heard; Lawrence Lyons, from Brook, shipped cattle from here to Chicago Sunday night. Mr. Lyons went to the city Sunday evening to be present when the cattle were sold this morn‘ing. The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Price was buried at Weston cemetery Sunday afternoon. About the same time the twin babies of Mr. and Mrs. Keerling were also laid away. Charles Rhoades, Jr., who is in the automobile service of the government at Washington, D. C., is spending a ten-day (furlough Iwiith his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rhoades, of this city. « Mrs. F. D. But chard went to Chicago this morning, where she will meet her brother, Howard Jones, who will enter the army service in the medical department.
