The home of Charles Harvey was the scene of a pleasant surprise last evening, it being his birthday. Friends and neighbors gathered and partook of a. sumptuous three-course dinner, after which six-handed flipper was played until a late 'hour. All left with pleasant memories and with the feeling that the host was completely surprised. Paul How Shaw, of Delphi, and Claude Giles, of Madison, Wis., visited friends here a short time Monday evening, Mr. Hoaljaw proceeding to Lafayette today, where he will enter Purdue university, and Mr. Giles returned to Madison, where he will enter the university, there.
