WILL REPRIMAND SUNDAY AUTOISTS
MAYOR OF ROCHESTER ASKS NAMES OF AUTO OWNERS. Rochester, Sept. 4.—Owners of 195 automobiles, which were seen on the streets here last Sunday, and which apparently were being used for pleasure purposes, will receive a letter of reprimand from H. iG. Miller, mayor of Rochester. Last Sunday was the first Sunday on which the United States fuel administration had requested that motor cars not be used for pleasure purposes, the aim being the conservation of gasoline for war purpose's. The license numbers of automobiles seen in the streets were taken by the local police and turned over to the mayor. He has written to the office of the secretary of state at Indianapolis asking for the names and addresses of the persons who obtained permits to operate the cars this year. In the letters he will call attention to the apparent violation of the fuel ruling and its unpatriotic aspect.
