OBITUARY,
Wheatfield Review: Carl Frederick Jahn was born in Hinder Pommer, Germany, June 7, 1851, and came to America Nov. 12, 1880. He married Bertha Benege, and they resided in Chicago three years, then came to Jasper county in the year 1883 with his family, and lived near Wheatfield Center until the past six months, where he has resided with his daughter, Mrs. Earl Schnickenburger, near Kersey, where he departed this life August 28, 1918, aged 67 years, three months and 21 days. He was a patient sufferer the past four years. He leaves to mourn their loss two daughters, Mrs. Earl Schnickenburger and Mrs. Lawrence Schnickenburger, two sisters, Mrs. Pinkel, of Chicago, and Mrs. Clark, of Escanaba, Mich. His beloved wife preceded him ‘to the great Beyond. The funeral services were held Sunday at the Wheatfield Center school house, conducted by Rev. Krohn, of the Lutheran church, and was very largely attended. In the passing of Carl Jahn the community has lost a splendid citizen. He was highly respected by all who knew him. Interment was at the Myers cemetery.
