O’MARA MAKING GOOD AT FAR CORNER OF DIAMOND.
Ollie O’Mara, the little blond infielder of the Robins, is covering his position at the far comer of the diamond as though he had always been a third baseman. When Chuck Ward was secured from the Pirates last winter Manager Robbie ceased to worry about a guardian for the sack, but when Ward was called to the colors Uncle Robbie decided to give O’Mara a trial at that important position. Although he had never before played third base, Ollie jumped in and has proved to be a success In the field. O’Mara’s only weakness is batting, but there is hope he will soon show improvement in that department also.
