A new telephone lineman arrived this Monday morning in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Heath. Born, Sunday, August 25, to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Keiper, a daughter. Mrs. Elijah Stevens, who left the hospital last week, continues to improve and is able to be up part of the time. Miss Ollie Tanner has returned from a two weeks’ visit at Browns Mills in Pines, N. J. Miss Tanner is a member of the Monnett staff. Mrs. Walter Truitt and Mrs. M. R. Evans returned to Griswold, lowa, today' after a visit, with Mr. and Mrs. S. P._ Bell and Arthur Watson and family. Mrs. Arthur Battleday returned Saturday from Chillicothe, Ohio, where she had spent some two months so as to be near her husband, who was located at Camp Sherman. Mr. Battleday has departed from the Ohio camp and expects to be in France by the last of September. Monday, September 2, the county commissioners, the county board of education and the regular annual session of the county teachers’ institute convene.
