C Several major league pitchers have figured in unique comebacks this season that have attracted more than the usual attention. Perhaps the most spectacular of fill was that of Earl Hamilton, lately of the Pittsburgh Pirates and now a Jack tar in Uncle Sam’s navy. Hamilton was a caStoff of the St. Louis Browns. Perhaps the most interesting feature among the pitchers has been furnished by Joe Wood, who has developed into a fielder and has been the means ol winning a number of games for the Cleveland Indians through bis timely hitting.
