Fleming was Called to Chicago Heights today to preach the funeral of a former member of his church at that place. Mrs. K. T. Rhoades came from Lafayette Friday to spend the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Parkison. Mrs. Ora Ross went to Battle Creek, Mich, today to see her son, Capt. Bradley Ross.
Mrs. H. F. Stokes returned to her home at Hammond, after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John O’Conner, Mrs. Van Woods went to McCoysburg today to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mary Ann Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Newman and son,. Ralph, of Champaign, 111., are the guests of the family of the formers’ father, Harry Newman, of this city. Gladys Groom received a letter today from her brother, John Groom, stating that he had landed safely in France. He is with the hospital corps. Private Arthur Quinn, who is in the infantry and stationed at Nitro, West Virginia, returned to that place today, after spending a five day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Quinn.
