KANKAKEE CELEBRATION WAS A HOLD UP
A number of our people complain of the treatment received at Kankakee, 111. on July Fourth. It » reported that they seemed to have been invited to the Illinois city for the single, purpose of being held up and robbed. Much of the celebration was held at the fair grounds. To get into tins enclosure each party was pay fifty cents and another fifty cents to get into the grandstand. This would not have been so bad if the grandstand had been in decent condition, but is reported to have been in such a bad condition boat many of the ladies had their expensive dresses ruined. , ' This treatment will be remembered by our people and in the future Kankakee will be erased from our visitidg list. ■'
