RUTH MCKINZIE HEROINE AT FIRE
HELPS RESCUE CLASSMATE WHEN SACRED HEART ACADEMY BURNS. Sacred Heart Academy of Louisville, Ky., was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon, April 19. The 200 girls escaped without panic. When the girls had reached a place of safety it was discovered that Beulah Minney, 9 years old, was left in the class room. Two of her classmates, Ruth McKinzie, of Bensselaer, and Ernestine Hines, of Louisville, went back in the burning room and found the girl almost suffocated. On being led out into the open air by her two rescuers she was soon revived. The loss of the building is about $200,000 and the girls have been sent to their home. Buth McKinzie" is the daughter of Mrs. Charles Harmon, of Evansville, and the grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Brown, of this city.
