BUY FORAGE CROP SEEDS EARLY
Lafayette, Ind., March 22.—Farmers who buy their seeds for forage crops this spring are doing a wise thing and rape, soybean, cowpea and other crops commonly planted for hog forage will likely be very scarce in the season, and the farmer who delays buying until he needs the seed is likely to be disappointed, think the men in charge of the seeds stock survey of Indiana. While all of these seeds can be procurred now, these men predict a rush at the last that will leave a lot of farmers without seed. It is likely that later in the season seed prices will be higher also, which is another reason for buying early. “Buy your forage crop seed early and be sure of it,” is the suggestion of these men. “Grain of all kinds promises to be still higher during the late spring and ■ early summer months, as well as all kinds of commercial by-product feeds for hogs. The farmer who is foresighted enough to buy seed early to plant forage crops to help feed his hogs this summer will make more money off of his hogs than the farmer who neglects to do this until it is too late to get seed.”
I am making a special Easter display this week and next, showing attractive models, stylish in shape, color and decoration. Miss Emma Rishling.
