CHICAGO ATHLETES READY FOR FRONT
Six additional University of Chicago athletes are ready to leave for the war zone as members of a hospital unit. They are Charles Higgins, Jerome Fisher, Sam Rotherfel, Charles Bent, Eugene Rouse and Edward Mahannah. The photograph shows Higgins, whose loss will be most severe in the track team, where he shone as an allaround man. Fisher was strong on the pole vault and high jump. Rotherfel was a star in the relays and Bent as a low hurdle point winner. Rouse was a sprinter, while Mahannah was an allaround track man.
