WERE MARRIED SIXTY-ONE YEARS
MR. AND MRS. NORMAN WARNER CELEBRATE 61st ANNIVERSARY. ? Fortune seldom smiles upon a family as it has upon that of Rensselaer’s aged couple, who for sixtyone years have traveled a most pleasant road strewn with many flowers of happiness and sadden by very few events of sorrow. Mir. ana Mrs. Norman Warner were married February 24, 1854. Sunday, February 24, the sixty-first mile-stone on that journey was taken note of by an elegant wedding anniversary dinner given in honor of the same by- their oldest son, Hale Warner, at his home. The record of this family is unique. They are the parents of three sons. Each of the three sons are the fathers of one child. Hale Warner being the father of Mrs. Virgil Hamilton, of Indianapolis; Grant Warner, the father of Rex Warner and Charles Warner, Helen Warner. All of the sons and grandchildren are living. There are two great-grand-children, the same being the Son and' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Warner. For sixty-one years the joy and happiness of this family has been interrupted but twice. Two daughter-in-laws have entered this happy circle and then have departed to the great beyond.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Warner on account of their happy and cheerful dispositions have endeared themselves to the people of this community. They have lived to see their sons grow into mature jnanhood and to occupy places of honor and distinction among us. The Warner family are a part of the history of Rensselaer and Jasper county and have contributed very materially to the progress enjoyed by this community. The Republican is expressing the universal desire of their host of friends, when we wish for Mr. and Mrs. Warner many returns of Sunday happy celebration.
