Increase of 25 Per Cent Is Noted, Yet Earnings Are Expected to Show a Decrease. The express companies are handling 25 per cent more business this year than last, yet their earnings are expected to drop. This Js said to be due to Increased cost of materials and supplies and higher wages. The commandeering of baggage cars by the government is also given as a reason for the slump in profits.
