Eugene Kirk, of Barkley township, went to Lafayette today. Jas. Walter, manager of J. J. Lawto Hammond today to shovel snow for the Monon railroad. James Walter, Manager J. J. She had been employed in the Barnes restaurant. The notice of the delinquent tax sale of Jasper county to be held on February 11, appears on page two of today’s issue. Mrs. Gaylord McFarland, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kanne, left today for her home in' Barberton, Ohio. Victor Hoover, who is employed by the Inland Steel Co., of Indiana Harbor, is home for a few days’ visit with his parents. The plant where Victor is employed was forced to shut down owing to a fuel shortage.
Owing to the coal shortage, my studio will be open only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of each week, until further notice. H. F. PARKER. Paul Swain, Lenzy Swain and Ernest Florence left today for Glouster, Mississippi. They went by way of Louisville, Ky., and will visit Camp Zachary Taylor and see as many as possible of the Jasper county soldiers. Word has been received in Lewell, announcing the safe arrival of Pat O’Brien in Canada. Mr. O’Brien, who has gained world wide fame as an aviator in the French army, will be in the United States for months. A monster demonstration has been planned for the returning hero at Momence, 111. Gov. Lowden and other celebraties will be present for the occassion.
