Grover Cleveland Alexander, the Phillies’ great right-handed pitcher last season, equaled Christy Mathewson’s record established while with the Giants in winning 30 games for three successive years. Alexander,this year won 30 games and lost 13. In J. 316 he won 33 and lost 12, and in 1015, the only time the Phillies won a pennant, Alexander won 31 and lost 10.
