Fred Williams May Not Raturn To Cubs Next Year

Fred Williams visited his home in Benton county last week and while there stated that he might not return to the Cubs next year. The outfielder stated that he was well pleased with his farming interests in northern Wisconsin—in fact so weD pleased that nothing but « contract with a good sized figure would hire 'him back to the pastime, “Cy” and Mrs. Williams are living on their farm this winter, which he bought with his baseball earnings. Although his batting average slumped during the past season, the veteran gardner chased flies with his usual ability, and it is not thought that Manager Mitchell will let him settle down to the simple life.
