Mercury Sank To 22 Below Hero Last Night

After a slight rise in temperature during the past two or three days, the mercury had another replace last night; stood at 22 degrees below zero this morning, according to * the fovernment thermometer at St. oseph’s college. Few realized that it was so cold, as it was still, dry coldness, unlike that of a few days ago when the wind and snow accompanied the drop in temperature. People are urged not to call St. Joseph’s for the weather reports as it is very irritating to the coUege authorities tobe answering the telephone continually in anwser to weather queries. The college very kindly furnishes The Republican with the reports each morning, which wiU be printed day by day.
