Get Wax From Trees.
From prehistoric time the Indians of Ecuador have utilized' a wax found on certain species of tall palms for making candles, writes Frederic W. Goding, United States consul general at Guayaquil. This wax on the tree trunks in granulaf form, each tree furnishing 50 pounds. The trees grow in great numbers on the .mountains â– along the coast. Mr. Coding has sent a sample of the wax to the department of commerce, saying from 15 to 20 tons a month of it can be supplied.
