George Washington's Title.
Did General Washington ever receive a title from the French government? Not a title of nobility, but near the close of the Revolutionary war he was commissioned lieutenant general of the French army and vice admiral of France in order that he might be commandet-in-chlef of the united forces of France and the United States, which were then co-operating.
