RAILROAD BUILT ALONG MEXICAN BORDER
San Diego and Eastern railroad constructing the last stretch of eight •Titles of its road through the mountains in the extreme southern part of California. It Includes some of the. most remarkable feats of engineering ever attempted. The railroad parallels and in one place crosses the Mexican border through a tunnel. The road crosses the mountains at a 4,000-foot altitude and has 30 tunnels in the short distance of 18 miles.
