Lese Majeste in Japan.

The appeal filed by Daikichiro Tagawa, formerly parliamentary undersecretary to tpe department of justice and a member of the Japanese house of representatives, accused of a lese majeste, has been rejected at the Tokio court of appeal. Mr. Tagawa was sentenced to five months’ imprisonment and fined $250 in the court for first instance for writing an article in which he attacked the Genro, or elder statesmen, for interference in the last ministerial change.
