W. D. Detrick, now an operator for the Monon railway at Lafayette, was here today for a short time. While located here Mr. Detrick became somewhat interested in one of our young ladies and this may explain his visit back here {oday. Carroll Leatherman in a letter to his father today says that he is now a corporal and was one of fifty selected to receive rifles. These were given to the men who were the best drilled.
