TO BUILD ALASKAN RAILROAD
At Present 136 Miles of Road Between Seward and Fairbanks Are in Daily Operation. Of the 466 miles of railroad to be built by the United States government from Seward to Fairbanks, Alaska, 136 miles are notv in operation, with daily trains. The estimated cost of constructing the 466 miles'of road is $25,642,000. Approximately $11,000,000 will have been spent by the close of the present fiscal year. A force of about 4,000 men is employed and work has continued throughout the winter.
