Evening Republican, Volume 21, Number 229, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 12 October 1917 — New Postage Stamp Colors. [ARTICLE]

New Postage Stamp Colors.

After November 2 it will cost more to send a letter to McCoysburg than to London, England. For the additional war tax on all letters out of town, the purchaser will get a lavender stamp of new design. The old red two cent stamp wifi still be used for out of town letters, but it must be accompanied by war tax stamp. The international agreement will still keep letter postage to Great Britain at the old rate, 2 cents per ounce. War tax stamps must be used on all postal cards as well as souvenir postcards. ■
