HANGING GROVE.
Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Cook went to Lafayette Wednesday evening on the milk train. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Zard visited his brother, Wm. Zard and family a few days this week. Mrs. W. E. Poole has returned home from Strawn, 111., where she had been visiting her father, Adam Kopp. Arthur Ferguson entertained a number of his friends at his home Wednesday evening, the occasion being his birthday. The Women’s Home Missionary Society of Lee was entertained by Mrs. Rollin Steward Tuesday afternoon. John Cook visited Robt. Drake and family near Lafayette Saturday night and Sunday. A meeting has been planned for Friday night, Oct. 19, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Osborne, Jr., in the interest of the community club organization. This will be a meeting for all and your attendance is fully desired at the meeting on the above date. A short program is being prepared for entertainment. People are growing entirely too busy with personal affairs, which has the unpleasant effect of making the world selfish and perhaps the foremost benefit to come from such an organization will be to bring members into closer fellowship with each other. Some may say they are too busy but it need not take a great deal of anyone’s time.
