Jasper County Board Of Education Met.
The Jasper county board of education met in regular monthly session in the office of the county school superintendent. Trustees Davis of Kankakee, Keene of Wheatfield and Davisson of Barkley were absent. The report of County Agent Learning for the month of September was examined and approved. . Superintendent Sterrett reported that he had a balance of about $75 in the county institute fund and proposed that this money be used by holding three educational meetings in the county, one at Wheatfield, one at Remington and the other at Rensselaer. It is proposed to have a good educational worker address the teachers at this meeting. This movement was approved by the trustees and teachers attending one or more of these meetings were to receive credit for same as a substitute of a regular township institute. The matter of teachers attending the State Teachers* Association at Indianapolis was left for each trustee to make whatever arrangement he may deem best. Teachers were each given a visiting day under the supervision of the county superintendent At the adjournment of the board and on invitation of County Agent Learning, the trustees went out to the James Amsler farm to inspect the result of the use of lime.
