HANGING GROVE.
Chas. P. Swing had quite a severe attack of asthma Sunday night, of which he has been bothered more or less for some time. This is the last week for paying Red Cross dues and perhaps there are some in this township who have just neglected this matter. They should call at the Red Cross headquarters in Rensselaer at once and pay same, and save the county secretary a lot of extra trouble. Miss Etta Miller, of Medaryville, is visiting with S. B. Snedeker and family -this- week.— _. . _ _ Robert Jordan has several teams and is patching up bad pieces of roac on the mail route. It behooves the public to take a keener interest in roads covered by mail routens, as the department is looking with an unfriendly eye on bad roads. D. E. Noland and O. S. Stewart stopped at Joseph Stewart’s Monday for a short time, being on their way to attend the Northwest Indiana conference at Valparaiso. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stewart and daughter, Mr.s John Jordan, went to Lafayette Tuesday. Geo. Meredith, of East Lynn, 111., visited Chas. Bussell and family § short time Sunday. Mrs. Emma Simpson las been vis iting her niece, Mrs. Rollin Stewart and family the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Snedeker and daughter, Zura, and Mrs. Ellen Blalinger, returned home Tuesday evening from their trip to Gaston and other points near there. Mrs. Ballinger is an aunt of Mrs. Snedeker and will remain for a brief visit. Their trip to Gaston was occasioned by a reunion of the Miller family.
