Two Benedict Arnolds.

There have been two Benedict Arnolds in American history. Besides the traitor of the Revolutionary war period, his great-grandfather, the first governor of Rhode Island, bore the same name. The first Benedict Arnold served several terms as governor by royal appointment, and, while living at Newport, he built a stone mill there which was an object of curiosity long after the Revolutionary war, as having been built by the grandfather of t£s traitor. /
