On the British front orders are given out the night before detailing activities that are to take place the following day. The officers then hold a meeting and “trade” places with each other where duty would send them to a spot commanded by one or more of their personal acquaintances. As usual, we were ordered to the wenches, and for the fourth time the man I ‘traded’ with has been killed.”
