V. M. Peer of Walker township, has just secured the first loan in Jasper county under the new federal land bank act. He borrowed $2,100. The loan draws 5 per cent per annum and can run for 36 years, one per cent of the principal being paid each year in addition to the 5 per cent interest. A borrower has the privilege of paying the principal any time asOn the transfer book in the county auditor’s office this property is valued at $1,070. The 80 acres of land at SBBO and the improvements at $l9O. Under the terms of the mortgage the improvements must be insured at S3OO or more, ter five years. Mr. Peer received his loan through the National Farm Loan Association of Walker, Gillam, Wheatfield and Kankakee townships.
