GET A RAISE IN SALARIES

CITY CLERK AND TREASURER NEXT YEAR TO RECEIVE S6OO SALARIES. At the city council meeting Monday evening all members were present. A salary ordinance, effective January lit, was adopted. It raises the salaries of the city clerk and treasurer from S4OO to S6OO per yea’'. The other salaries remain the same. The councilmen will receive SBO per year, the marshal and night watch S6O per month, the mayor $250 per year, and the city attorney S3OO per year. An ordinance was introduced to charge a license to junk men of $25 per year, but was laid on the table. Mrs. Critser, who was hurt on a defective sidewalk some months ago, was allov'ed SSO as settlement in full of her injuries. The city marshal and nightwatch were instructed to report to the mayor all violations of automobile cut-out and speeding ordinances. The following claims were allowed: Corporation.
