- Dora Feldman, who ha<f taken the teachers’ examination here Saturday, returned to her home at DeMotte today. Mrs. Victor Timmons returned to her home at Montreal, Hl., today, after a visit with Mrs. Eliza Reed and the family of William Michaels. Ira Coe, of Chicago, came Saturday fjc a week end visit with friends here and also to look after'some business connected with the local schools. Mr. Coe is getting along nicely with his new work, but not too busy to forget Rensselaer. A farmer living near this city, was in Hammond Sunday and it is reported that the trip was an expensive one for him. Some slick fingered crook nabbed his pocketbook and all it contained, including his return tickets. He finally prevailed upon the station agent to accept his check for return tickets to Rensselaer. “F. D. Burchard came Saturday evening from Indianapolis, where he is attending the officers’ training school, for a visit with his family. Mr. Burchard stated that he was practically certain of obtaining his commission this week and will no doubt be assigned to the quartermaster department. The school will end in about two more weeks.
