Ed Robinson, of Chicago, spent Sunday here. Daniel W. Potter and family, of Brazil, are here for a visit with C. W. Clift and family. Miss Mildred Clift returned from Terre Haute Sunday, where she had been visiting for the past several weeks. C. S. Head, superintendence of maintenance of way of the Indiana Railways and Light Company, of Kokomo, is here to give expert testimony in the Ryan ditch case. Mr. Head formerly lived near Newland. Mrs. Mattie Grant and daughter, Mrs. Joseph O’Connor, of Hammond, came Saturday for a visit with Van Grant and family. Mrs. O’Connor returned to her home Sunday evening, but Mrs. Grant remained for a longer visit. I give ten per cent of all profits to the Red Cross.
