Obituary.
George K. Babcock, son of J. D. and Viola Babcock, was born in Jasper county, Indiana, March 23, 1876, and died June 11, 1917, aged 41 years, 2 months and 18 days. February 12, 1909, he was married to Lorena Wilburn, and for more than eight years their eomjihnionship was sweet, and a beautiful home life was the result. Herold, six years old, is their only child. Mr. Babcock lived in the neighborhood of Petroleum for the past six years, where he proved himself a good neighbor, a kind friend, and a much respected citizen. He was industrious, frugal, and always kind and considerate of others. the year 1908 he confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, and joihed the M. E. church at Rockford, Ind., where he held his membership until his death. Besides his wife and son, his father, three brothers, Elmer, of Hammond, Ind.; Thomas and Frank, of Petroleum; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Graham, Mrs. Mary Lamson, Mrs. Lizzie Yeoman, and Malinda Scott, with many other relatives and friends, pay tribute to his memory.
