On account of matters in his own circuit, he adjourned court until Monday, July 2nd. Major George H. Healey left today for Plymouth, Valparaiso, Auburn and South Bend, Ind., to inspect the companies in his regiment and also to aid in recruiting. A big meeting will be held this evening by members of the guard at Valparaiso. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chesnut and daughter returned to their home in Michigan this morning. Mrs. A. P. Burton accompanied them as far as Chicago. N. C. Shafer, Jr., arrived in Rensselaer Wednesday evening, but he will not take full management of the Main Garage for some time.' Mr. and Mrs. N. C. In order to conserve space, Marshal Robinson is painting white lines eight feet apart along Washington street and around the court house square for the parking of automobiles. The lines are drawn at approximately a thirty degree angle. Automobile owners who park their cars along the public streets will be compelled park their autos between these lines. In this way many more cars may be parked than heretofore, as no one will be able to use more than their allotted square. 152 automobiles may now be parked between the Makeever hotel and the postoffice. The Trust and Savings Bank of Rensselaer, Ind., has been appointed administrator of the estate of the late Orpheus C. Halstead. Attorney George A. Williams came back from East Liberty, Ohio, Wednesday to look after some important legal matters. He will return to Ohio for a family reunion on July 4th. Mrs. Williams remained at East Liberty. Both will return to Rensselaer by July 9th, at which time the Ryan ditch is set for hearing and Mr. Williams Js one of the attorneys for the proposed improvement.. , ■ • r.. . Beginning Sunday, July Ist, and continuing until September Ist, the Monon will run a train north from Monon each Sunday. It will leave Monon at 6:33 p. m. and will stop at most stations between there and Chicago. This is done to accommodate' the large number of people desiring to get back to the city after a Sunday out in good old Indiana. Agent W. H. Beam informed the reporter for this paper that the regular train going north s here on Sunday evening was always so- crowded that there was not even standing room.
