Religion Bids Him Slay 6-Year Old Child at Sacrifice.

Kansas City, May 20.-— A. story of fanaticism which led to the slaying as a sacrifice of six-year-old Helena Bentz, was announced tonight by the police of Kansas City, who have the child's father, Jacob Bentz, in custody. Bentz was found kneeling beside the body of 'his daughter, who had been beaten to death, clasping his bible and (praying. “It was God’s will,” Bentz told the arresting officers, as he was led away. The (police, after questioning Bentz, announced that 'he constantly referred to a passage in the bible narrating Abraham’s preparation to sacrifice his son Isaalc. Abraham’s three days’ absence before placing his son on the altar was regarded by officials as the biblical prototype off the action of Bentz, who three days ago quit ‘his job and disappeared.
