State May Buy Coal Mines to Beat H. C. L.

Indianapoils, -May 16.—The state of Indiana may buy strip coal mines from which to obtain fuell for the several institutions of the state as a means of avoiding exorbitant pitices demanded for fuel. The subject was considered at a conference held today between Governor Goodrich and members of the legislative visiting committee, including Senators McOanahay and Chambers and Representative McGonagle.
