Is Indiana’s School Population Diminishing?

Monticello Journal. Quite a number of the counties of the state show big losses in the num ber of children of school age according to returns from the annual enumeration. In White county .there is a loss of 252 from the 1916 enumeration. Jasper county reports a loss of 202. Many other counties report losses of from a very few up to one or two hundred. The question arisen is our school population in Indiana tending toward extinction? It hardly seems possible that there shouui be such a loss in a single year.
