In homes where there are children going to school, and where the stocking blli is oue of the big items in the family expense, agreatsaving canbe made by* the following method: When the stockings have become worn and. darned at the knees, and no longer look neat, cut the leg from the foot, below the top of the shoe, and turn the worn part to the back of the leg, bringing the unworn part to the front. Sew back to the foot with a flat seam, so that it will not hurt the child’s ankler 'they may not look particularly neat, but certainly no worse than if worn with the darning in front, and it is indeed a great saving. 1
