A committee of citizens of New Albany, Indiana, submitted the following classified report of the appraisement of the property loss caused by the disastrous tornado that passed through that city on the 23rd of March, 1917: y 300 private residences demolished, 192 private residences damaged, loss appraised at ..$583,000 Household furniture demolished in above mentioned dwelllings, loss appraised at . .$250,000 Total loss to private property $833,000 Manufacturing loss appraised $178,000 Other property losses appraised at $17,500 Total loss sustained appraised at $1,028,503 See Chas.
