TWENTY NEW AUTOS TO RACE THIS YEAR
Cars Never Shown in limited States Before Will .Be Seeh In Action Nearly twenty new racing automobiles will be seen in action this year which never have been shown in the United States before. David F. Reid, president of the Speedway Park association, is sponger for this statement and declares that as a result of the new machines elimination trials which have heretofore been largely mechanical, will assume new importance. Few of the machines which figured in the 1916 campaigns, acording to Reid, will be missing from the field this year. Foremost among the new teams which ’will compete will be the Hudson team, which is under the management of Art Hill, who for The last two years has been the personal manager of Dario Resta. The Hudson broke into the facing game last season. ' The exact status of the Hudson team has not been disclosed, but it is said the team will consist of five cars. " tn addition to the Hudson team and the re-entry of the Stutz into the racing game, the 1917 season will see the Mencer in action after an absence of two years. Besides the two Fiats and the two Sunbeams which .are to be brought from Europe, Fred Duesenberg, long the leading American racing motor manufacturer, has brought but a new type of car and of this type it is expected several will race this year.
